There will be times when you'll need to trace from which cells a calculation is coming from. One way to figure that out is to look inside the formula bar, but that could be very time consuming, especially if the formula is a complicated one.
On the (1) Formulas tab, you can also use the (2) Trace Precedents feature. Blue arrows visually display which cells your calculations make up the content of the selected cell.
